CatTouch - CFG Screen

This information is for firmware v2.44 or greater

If you change anything, you must press SAVE so they are stored for next startup

Cal. Touch allows you to recalibrate the touch screen
You must use the provided resistive touch screen stylus which has a fine hard smooth tip that doesn't scratch
A soft stylus, used with capacitive touch screens, is no good and will not work!

Flip Screen allows you to flip the screen up the other way so you can sit CatTouch on shelf
You will be prompted to recalibrate the touch screen if you flip the screen

Start up screen: allows you to choose which screen to display when powered on
Each press of the button cycles CFG, WiFi, MIC, SPK, MRT, CLK or BAR

Type: Change the type of display between TFT or IPS
If your screen shows inverted colors, press this to correct it
Pressing changes display type instantly, saves the setting & restarts CatTouch

Offset: for local time can be changed in +/- 15 minute increments
Zulu / UTC Time is reported from the transceiver & can only be changed in the transceiver
Refer to your transceiver's user manual on how to change its time & date

232C rate: (CAT speed) can be changed to 4800, 9600, 19200 & 38400 (19200 is the default)
This speed must match the 232C rate on the transceiver
This is also where you set the speed for FT-710 CAT-3 (tuner/linear jack)

CatTouch voltmeter: can be adjusted in +/- 0.1V increments
This measures the voltage powering CatTouch

Display brightness: is initially set by the transceiver, a value from 0 to 15 or 20 (depends on model)
Changing this setting allows you to adjust brightness of CatTouch only
Adjustable display brightness is only supported by v9 PCB or greater
Earlier revisions can be modified as described in firmware release notes included with firmware

NOTE: transceiver LOCK must be off for the transceiver brightness to work!

JPG Delay: the delay (in seconds) betwen each JPG image when using JPG screen

- Meter Calibration -
-/+ buttons allow you to calibrate Meters & Bars
Value entered are multiplied with the CAT value reported by the transceiver
When calibrating, you can make a change in this CFG screen,
review it on MTR screen, then go back to CFG to makes more changes, Etc
No need to save until you finish making changes

RX delay is the time taken for the S meter to plot

TX delay is the time SWR, CMP, W & ALC meters take to plot
If you mainly use carrier modes like SSB, a larger delay helps smooth out meter action
You may find carrier modes like CW, FM & AM work best with smaller delays

IARU region frequencies for your zone as determined by the International Amateur Radio Union
These agreed frequency bands are used by CatTouch to determine band edges for SWR tests

When finished, press SAVE to permanently store everything

Firmware update will erase all your settings
